NEW PROJECT! Erasmus+ project FurnitureLCA: Empowering Furniture Companies with Life Cycle Assessment for Sustainable Practices (ref. 2024-1-PL01-KA220-VET-000253085)
On 20th December 2024, the new Erasmus+ project FurnitureLCA: Empowering Furniture Companies with Life Cycle Assessment for Sustainable Practices (ref. 2024-1-PL01-KA220-VET-000253085) had its Kick-off 👏
🛣️Objective
🕵♂️The project intends to give furniture SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and VET (Vocational Education and Training) students the information they need to conduct lifecycle assessments that enable them to measure environmental consequences and make more environmentally friendly decisions.
Partners 🤝
FurnitureLCA consortium consists of 5 partners with wide expertise in the wood and furniture industries:
- Furnitrue, PL, is a limited liability company offering services concerning the development of products and strong engineering skills as well as soft competencies regarding design concepts or workflow. Furnitrue conducts workshops and training for primary, secondary and university students in ergonomics, anthropotechnics, and materials science.
-AMUEBLA, ES, Business Cluster Association of the Furniture, Wood and Habitat Sector in the Region of Murcia, launched by a group of stakeholders close to the furniture sector (mostly SMEs, suppliers, and manufacturers, but also universities, training providers and R&D centres) who work together to meet the needs of the furniture and habitat sector representing the interests of more than 80 companies and over 2,500 employees.
- InnoRenew CoE Renewable Materials and Healthy Environments Research and Innovation Centre of Excellence, SI, is a not-for-profit private research centre established in 2017 with funding from the H2020 WIDESPREAD-2-TEAMING programme (Grant #739574). InnoRenew CoE researches renewable materials and sustainable buildings and transfers scientific knowledge into industrial practice.
- Globalnet, PL, is an educational institution that belongs to the non-formal learning system in Poland and mostly operates in vocational and adult education for a variety of target groups. The company also designs, develops, and implements e-learning products and software and provides e-learning solutions, training and services for different sectors of education.
- InnovaWood network, BE, is a major European network in the forestry, woodworking and furniture sectors with an overall aim of bringing business benefits to the value chain by providing a forum for the member's organisations and contributing to the competitive development of the European forest-based sector. The network has 70+ member organisations from 29 countries in Europe and overseas in the fields of research, development, innovation, education and transfer.
FurnitureLCA coordinated by a Polish company Furnitrue received funding from the Polish National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme for period 01. 12. 2024 – 31. 01. 2027.
